Today, October 28, in recognition of National First Responders Day, we would like to thank the firefighters, EMS personnel, law enforcement officers, dispatchers, and all first responders who dedicate their time to serving and protecting our communities.

Friday evening, the company participated in Bethel Springs Elementary School's Home & School Association Trunk or Treat event. The event was held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thank you to Bethel Springs for the invite and to our members who represented the company at the event.

October is Fire Prevention month, and this morning the department visited the Lightbridge Academy located on Naamans Creek Road in Bethel Township. Members displayed and explained the uses of our gear and equipment. Each child was provided the opportunity to sit in Engine 66. Thank you to Lightbridge Academy for the invite.

Congratulations to Mike & Megan Natrin on the birth of their daughter Emma, who was born yesterday at 1:46 p.m. weighing 7lbs, 7 ounces and 20 inches long.

Congratulations to Firefighter Ali Fard Sanei, who earned his black shield Thursday night after completing his Firefighter I & II certifications, rookie book, and all required in-house training.

With the completion of these requirements, Ali is now qualified to operate as an interior firefighter with Bethel Township Hose Company No. 1.

Congratulations, Ali, on reaching this milestone!

Just before 1930 hours on Tuesday night, Truck 66 was dispatched on the working fire assignment to assist Company 39 (Lower Chichester Volunteer Fire Company) on a residential structure fire in Trainer Borough.

Truck 66 arrived as the supplemental special and was assigned as the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT). Immediately following the assignment, the crew was reassigned to secure utilities to the main fire building. Crews then assisted with placing ground ladders and overhaul.

Crews operated under the command of Chief 39 before clearing the scene.
