Amelia SueAnn Cox, or more commonly known as Millie, and to a lot more as Mighty Millie đź’› Her battle against cancer began August 31st 2021, when she was diagnosed with AMKL (acute metallic leukemia). Essentially, the bone marrow produces abnormal myeloid blasts instead of functioning red and white blood cells, and platelets. Cancer remains the number 1 cause of death by disease in children in the United States. Relapse occurs in 30%-40% of all children cases.

Millie had a lot of bruising on her legs but her parents were told she’s a toddler and it’s normal. Her momma’s advice “if you don’t feel good about something, your gut as a momma or daddy, then go further and push for answers!” Sadly, Millie lost her battle November 17, 2022. Millie was loved by many, and missed daily.

Anderson County Sheriffs office, jail, and dispatch is participating in a pajama drive in Millie’s honor. Beginning November 1st we are accepting new pajamas for kiddos of all ages, infants to teens! We will have a donation box in the lobby of the sheriffs office and would love for the community to help!

It is important to know that the OUTDOOR WARNING SIRENS are meant to be heard outside only! There is no guarantee that even if the OWS is next door to your home, you'll hear it inside your home!
