Today, I visited with Operation Helo during their training at the airport in Shelby. I first met these folks in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Helene, and since then they’ve done incredible work helping families and communities across Western North Carolina recover and rebuild.

This morning I toured the Duke Energy Emerging Technology and Training Center in Mount Holly and got a firsthand look at how crews are using drones and robotics to inspect damaged equipment after storms like Hurricane Helene.

We also talked about the impact electric vehicles are having on the grid and what’s being done to prepare for the increased demand as well as what Congress can do to tackle growing energy prices.

This morning, I joined Charlotte Douglas International Airport CEO Haley Gentry for a tour of the terminal following the announcement they will recieve $28M for infrastructure repairs. We were also accompanied by Charlotte City Council Member Ed Driggs and NCDOT Board Member Stephen Rosenburgh.

With CLT continuing to grow as one of the busiest airports in the world, I’ll keep fighting for common-sense improvements that keep travel safe and efficient for the entire region.

Honored to announce Valentina Cutitaru of Ardrey Kell High School and the Allan Fine Art Academy as the winner of this year’s Congressional Art Competition for North Carolina's 14th District! Her artwork will be displayed in the United States Capitol for one year.

We received so many impressive submissions, and it was incredible to see the talent and hard work from students across our district.
