Are you ready to "Fall in Love with Reading" this autumn? 🍂 🥮 📚🎃

Hello, everyone! I’m Ratasha Benton-Manley—local author, educator, literacy advocate, and creator of the "Not All Scientists Wear Lab Coats" series.

This fall, I’m partnering with the Albemarle Regional Library System (ARLNC) to bring my C8G Book Tour to seven libraries across Bertie, Gates, Hertford, and Northampton counties!

My debut middle-grade novel, "The Girls of Cabin 8—The Green Glimmer" , introduces readers to eight brilliant young scientists who must combine their individual talents, cultural knowledge, courage, and problem-solving skills to investigate a mysterious green glimmer at Camp CATALYST.

But this tour is about more than simply hearing me talk about the book.

I want you to step into the story!

At each stop, young readers and their families may have an opportunity to investigate environmental mysteries, participate in immersive experiences, decrypted and decode messages, and/or collaborative STEM challenges.
Either way, these activities will give readers a chance to meet the girls of Cabin 8!

At select locations, I may also host a young writers workshop for aspiring storytellers who are ready to explore their own ideas and begin creating worlds of their own.

And, of course, copies of "The Girls of Cabin 8—The Green Glimmer" will be available for purchase, and I would be honored to personally sign your book!

Whether you already love reading, are fascinated by science, enjoy solving mysteries, or are still searching for the kind of book that speaks to you, this experience was created with you in mind.

Because scientists don’t all look alike.

They don’t all think alike.

They don’t all work alike.

And they certainly don’t all wear lab coats!
