π Their safety. Your responsibility.
During National School Bus Safety Week, October 19β23, the NC State Highway Patrol reminds motorists to do their part to protect students on every ride to and from school.
π‘ Yellow flashing lights mean slow down and prepare to stop.
π΄ When required to stop, remain stopped until the red lights are off, the stop arm is withdrawn and the bus begins moving.
π Stay alert and watch for children near bus stops.
Know when to stop: On two-lane roads, roads with two lanes plus a center turn lane, and four-lane roads without a median, traffic in both directions must stop. On roads with four or more lanes separated by a median or center turn lane, only traffic traveling in the same direction as the bus must stop.
Every school bus carries someoneβs world. Help them get home safely.
