I, Victoria Smith, Secretary/Treasurer of the Genesee Office, would like to express my sincere appreciation to the many individuals and organizations who helped make the Greenways Trail and Recreation Grant project possible. Through this grant, Genesee Township was awarded $25,000 from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Commonwealth Financing Authority, to assist with the purchase of new playground equipment for the Genesee Park that was installed by the end of May. This funding was made possible in part by the required 15% cash match, supported through the generosity of past patrons, community members, renters, and donors who have contributed to the park over the years.
This project required a great deal of time, effort, and collaboration, and I am deeply grateful for the support received along the way. Special thanks are extended to Pennsylvania State Senator Dush’s office and Pennsylvania State Representative Martin Causer’s office, as well as their dedicated staff, for their letters of support, guidance, and continued encouragement. Their grant workshops have provided valuable insight into funding opportunities available to municipalities.
I would also like to thank the Potter County Commissioners for their continued support over the years. My gratitude also extends to the Potter County Planning and Community Development Department, which has been an invaluable source of guidance and support.
I am especially grateful to my Board of Supervisors for their steady support and encouragement, which have helped me continue learning, growing, and taking on new challenges. I also sincerely appreciate my coworkers and fellow Park Board members for their teamwork, patience, and willingness to support this project and help make it possible. Their support has meant so much to me, and I cannot express how fortunate I am to work alongside such a great team.
A special thank-you goes to the 4-H Famous Wabbits Club, who generously volunteered their time and worked alongside everyone to help bring this project together. Their hard work and community spirit will leave a lasting impact on Genesee Park and will benefit our residents, visitors, neighboring townships, and especially the children who will enjoy these improved outdoor recreational opportunities. PA State Rep. Martin Causer Senator Cris Dush
