As we begin our 6th year of hosting the Geneseo Summer Concerts in the Village Park, we reflect on our purpose, our role in the community, and what we have learned, over time. Thanks for all of the nice messages, fans. Tim and I couldn't get all of the work done to make the concert series work this year. The pandemic didn't get better until March, 2022 and then it was too late to sign the bands, raise the $$ arrange for the tents in the park and handle all of the other details.

We miss it. Let's hope for the summer of 2023!

The Geneseo Summer Concert Series began 15 years ago and the original committee members included Dick Gallivan, Sandra Brennan, Kathryn FitzSimmons and Tim Brinduse. Sadly, Dick Gallivan and Sandra Brennan have passed on and are sorely missed.

Our purpose was to provide free, quality music in the Village Park on Friday nights in the summer. We raised about $12,000.00 each season, $6,000.00 from six major sponsors: The Village of Geneseo, the Town of Geneseo, Coast Professional, Senator Patrick Gallivan, Wegmans, and TAB Design Architects and another $6,000.00 from Geneseo businesses, families and individuals. Expenses were many: paying the bands, advertising, tent rentals and sound equipment.

In 2020 and 2021 the committee was forced to cancel its summer concerts because of the Covid-19 health crisis. In 2022 we were hoping to resume the concerts, but infections and restrictions were still high and have only recently improved.

Now we have simply run out of time. Booking the bands, raising funds and getting re-organized are huge tasks that require much time and hard work. Also, Covid-19 is still an unknown factor.

WE WILL BE BACK IN 2023!!

The Geneseo Summer Concert Series is proud to announce that our 2020 season is set. We have a talented and varied group of musicians performing, starting on June 19, 2020 with Bob's Brother's Band (photo below) and continuing on Friday nights throughout the summer. Check out our website at www.geneseoconcerts.com for the complete schedule!

Our purpose is to provide good, free entertainment for Geneseo and surrounding communities in the beautiful Geneseo Village Park. We are entering our 12th season and it still warms our hearts to see families and friends tapping their toes, dancing to the music and just having fun on a beautiful summer evening.

Whether you enjoy jazz, rock 'n roll, blues, country or soul, you are bound to find your genre and a memorable experience. We like to support the local music scene.

We thank our major sponsors, business donors, individual donors. Without you, this would not be possible.

Bye Bye, 2019 Summer Concert Series....it was FUN...

The 2019 Geneseo Summer Concert Series has come and gone. We thank our Facebook friends for the good communication and "likes" and we thank Tom Hill for his weekly postings.

We had our challenges this year, with some schedule changes and some worries about the weather from time to time. Sadly, we lost Joe Dady, who can never be replaced.

We are amazed each Friday evening in the Village Park, to see dancing children, old friends meeting with hugs, and families sitting together, tapping their toes to the music. It's why we continue....

We couldn't do it without Mark and Janelle Shepard and the volunteers from Cafe Shiloh, who work hard to bring fabulous desserts and beverages to the fans.

See you in 2020, when we will have more wonderful times in the wonderful Geneseo Village Park.

Join us this Friday, September 13th, in the Village Park from 7 to 9 PM for Miller and The Other Sinners.
David Miller grew up mostly in the country, south of Buffalo, NY, in Allegany County. At a very young age, he began singing in church, surrounded by gospel music, which has impacted his writing to this day. Growing up through the 70's and 80’s, he was exposed to all different styles of music, learning piano, sax and eventually, guitar. Blues, R&B and soul music always inspired him though he never embraced those forms until much later in life. He was composing from a very early age and was recording his own church albums at the age of 12.
"David Miller's music is earthy and soulful. A bluesy rock style, a rich voice, and guitar, along with years of experience, it adds up to a musical pilgrimage that attracts attention and stimulates a crowd. People get interested, and that's golden!" - Holt Vaughn, Founder, and CEO of the Award Winning group of media companies.
Cafe Shiloh adds quality desserts and beverages each Friday. The pies are as popular and appealing as the music. Get there early, as the pies usually sell out!

The Legacy Continues:
The day after my brother died, I thought about taking a couple of months off from the music. That thought didn't last long. I quickly realized that the music was my refuge. I also knew that Joe would want me to continue playing. It's what we've done all our lives.
I think of Joe every waking minute and feel him with me in the music. I'm pleased to be playing with a brilliant young musician, John Ryan, who excels on tin whistle and button accordion.. He has been accompanying me for a number of gigs since Joe became too ill to perform.
Together, we look forward to a special show for Joe's and my Livingston County friends.
Cheers,
John

Broadband is coming to the Village Park in Geneseo on Friday, Aug. 9, from 7-9 pm.
The legendary Moses brothers (Bob and Ken) got hooked early on live music 50 years ago and formed a four piece "garage band, " playing local clubs and high school dances in the Geneseo and Conesus Lake area.
The band played on and eventually became the very successful EZMoney band.
Recently, former members, including Kenny Moses, re-united and persuaded the lovely and talented vocalist Karen Mahany to join them in performing a wide-range of modern and classic rock and roll. Don't miss this one: a new band with a new name, Broadband.
You will want to bring some jingle for fine desserts and beverages from Cafe Shiloh. Most weeks their fine desserts sell out fast!
