Public Notice from the Geneva County Sheriff’s Office

Beau’s Law (SB361) takes effect on Thursday, October 1 and aims to ensure the humane treatment of dogs confined outdoors. It requires dogs have adequate food, shelter, and water, and places restrictions on how dogs can be tethered.

The bill was named after a dog rescued by the Greater Birmingham Humane Society who was chained to a fence and standing on an upside-down planter during a snowstorm.
