Last year's Backpack Drive was such an incredible success that we're doing it again!

Help us make sure local students head back to school with the supplies they need by donating a NEW backpack. 🎒 Every backpack makes a difference and helps set a child up for a successful school year.

📍 Drop-off Location: 755 Fellows Road, Genoa City, WI 53128

Together, our community can make this year's drive even bigger and better. Let's fill every backpack with hope!

PSA: Sextortion (online exploitation) - Video Attached

When teens are asked to send intimate photos of themselves online, the person on the other end may not be who they claim to be. In many cases, offenders pose as someone the same age, someone interested in them, or even a trusted friend. They may even reference mutual friends, shared interests, or information gathered from social media profiles, all as part of a deliberate effort to gain the victim’s trust.

Once the offender receives the photos, they may use them to exploit the victim for financial gain, often through a crime known as “sextortion.” These offenders demand payment in exchange for keeping the photos private, threatening to share the images with the victim’s social media contacts, parents, boyfriend or girlfriend, or others they know.

Sextortion can happen to anyone, and the consequences can be serious. We encourage parents and guardians to watch this video created by the Wisconsin Department of Justice and take time to have an open conversation with their children about online safety and the dangers of sharing intimate images.

*While these crimes most commonly target teenagers, adults can also become victims of sextortion and similar online exploitation schemes.

Due to the active week of severe weather, Wisconsin Emergency Management and the National Weather Service have made the decision to cancel the statewide tornado drill originally scheduled for today.

04/13/2026

This week is severe weather awareness week. 🌪️ Normally, Walworth County tests storm sirens 📢on the third Wednesday of each month at noon unless there is a possibility of severe weather.

This week, due to the possibility of severe weather on Wednesday and the Statewide Drills on Thursday, April 16th, we will test our storm sirens with the State Tornado Drill at 1:45PM on Thursday, April 16th.
