🎶 INVESTING IN FINE ARTS AT GENTRY! 🎭🎺

We're excited to share another investment in our Fine Arts programs at Gentry Public Schools! At tonight's meeting, our School Board approved the purchase of new acoustical sound shells for our choir program! 🎶

So, what are sound shells? They're specially designed panels that help direct and project sound toward the audience, improving the overall quality of performances while also helping students hear themselves and one another more clearly. Our students are already familiar with this type of setup from traveling to competitions and participating in events like All-State. Now, they'll get to experience those same benefits right here at home during rehearsals and performances! This will be a great addition for our choir students and will also benefit our band program during indoor performances!

At Gentry, we're committed to continually improving opportunities for our students. Whether it's academics, athletics, facilities, safety, or fine arts, we're proud of the progress we've made across our district and excited about what's still ahead!

Over the past few years, we've been fortunate to make some great investments in Fine Arts, including:

🎺 New band uniforms

🥁 New musical instruments

🎼 Parking lot resurfacing to better support marching band practices

🎭 Equipment upgrades for our theatre program

🎶 And now, new acoustical sound shells!

And we're not finished! We're continuing to explore additional improvements across our Fine Arts programs as we look for more ways to support our students.

Our Fine Arts programs are an important part of Gentry Public Schools, and we're proud to support the talented students and dedicated staff who make them so special.

And we're building on an already outstanding tradition of excellence! From our Grand Champion award-winning marching band and Sweepstakes Award-winning choir program to the amazing productions put on by our theatre department, not to mention the many other group and individual honors earned by our talented students, Fine Arts at Gentry is already accomplishing incredible things! Investments like this are another way we can build on that success and help our students and staff reach even greater heights!

From the classroom to the stage and everywhere in between, we're excited about the opportunities we're continuing to build for our students!

A special thank you to Choir Director Mr. Dutton for taking the lead on this project, working with our high school administration to research and select the equipment he felt would best serve his students, and presenting his selection to our School Board. We're grateful to our Board members for supporting his vision and making this investment possible, and to our community for your continued support of Gentry Public Schools!

🏆A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP WORTH CELEBRATING! 📣

Gentry Pioneer Cheer made its mark on the national stage, and now it’s time to celebrate this incredible accomplishment right here at home! ❤️🤍🖤

Our 2026 NCA National Champions have put in the work, demonstrated outstanding teamwork and represented Gentry with pride. Now, they’ll receive a special reminder of what they accomplished together: Their national championship rings and jackets!

Join us Friday, October 23, at halftime of the Gentry vs. Berryville football game at Pioneer Stadium as we recognize these outstanding student-athletes and celebrate a championship moment with our community.

Fresh off their national title, our cheerleaders are already building on that success and preparing to lead the Pioneers through another exciting season.

📚❤️🤍 We can’t wait to see all our Pioneers back tomorrow on a regular schedule.

There is some great learning happening in all our schools! Take, for example, these second graders who are working on the building blocks of reading, one word and one minute at a time! From practicing spelling words to building reading fluency through one-minute reading activities, our students are strengthening the skills that will help them grow into confident readers.

It's exciting to see the work happening in our classrooms as students practice, improve and build a strong foundation for future learning!

🏆 GRAND CHAMPIONS! 🏆

Congratulations to our Gentry Pioneer Band on an outstanding performance at the West Fork Invitational!

Our Pioneers finished the competition as GRAND CHAMPIONS, earning the following awards in finals:

🏆 Outstanding Color Guard
🏆 Outstanding Drum Major
🏆 Outstanding Percussion
🏆 Outstanding Musical Performance
🏆 Outstanding Visual Performance
🏆 Outstanding General Effect

Earlier in the day, our band also had an incredible showing in preliminaries, earning 1st Place in Class C along with all six of those same outstanding performance awards!

What a great day for our students, directors, parents, bus drivers, and everyone involved in our band program! Thank you for the hard work and dedication that go into representing Gentry so well.

PIONEERS LEADING PIONEERS! 📣

Meet Gemma, a GHS 9th grader and cheerleader who is making a difference one cheer at a time! ❤️

Gemma has been spending time with our 4th Grade GYO cheerleaders, helping them learn, grow, and develop their skills. By sharing her experience and encouraging these young athletes, she’s showing them that being a Pioneer is about more than wearing the colors — it’s about lifting others up! 👏

From the sidelines to the practice field, leadership shines brightest when it’s passed down to the next generation. We love seeing our GHS students set the example and inspire our younger Pioneers to believe in themselves, work hard, and keep reaching higher! 📣✨
