Multi-Agency Pursuit Ends Safely in Live Oak County

Earlier today, the George West Police Department assisted surrounding law enforcement agencies during a vehicle pursuit that originated in Goliad County and traveled through Bee County and the City of Beeville before entering Live Oak County.

As the pursuit continued into Live Oak County, nearing the George West city limits, George West Police Department Officer Gomez was able to successfully deploy a tire deflation device near Interstate 37, disabling the vehicle’s tires and significantly reducing the threat posed by the fleeing vehicle.

Following the deployment, the vehicle entered the Flying J parking lot, where the pursuit ultimately came to an end. The subject was safely taken into custody without further incident.

This incident is another example of the importance of communication, coordination, and cooperation between law enforcement agencies across county and municipal boundaries. Pursuits do not recognize jurisdictional lines, and neither does our commitment to protecting the public.

The successful resolution of this incident was made possible through the combined efforts of the involved agencies and officers who worked together to bring the situation to a safe conclusion.

Thank you to our community for your continued trust and support. The George West Police Department remains committed to working alongside our local, county, and state law enforcement partners to keep our communities safe.

🇺🇸 REMEMBERING SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to remember September 11, 2001—a day that changed our nation forever.

We remember the innocent lives lost, the families forever changed, and the brave men and women who ran toward danger while others were running away. We honor the firefighters, police officers, EMTs, military members, and countless civilians who demonstrated extraordinary courage and selflessness.

To those heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to others, including the 343 firefighters and 72 Law Enforcement officers who never made it home that day.
Twenty-five years later, we continue to Remember. Honor. Never Forget.

From the George West Police Department, we stand with our brothers and sisters in law enforcement, fire, EMS, and the military, and we honor all those whose lives were forever impacted by September 11th.

🇺🇸 🇺🇸We will never forget. 🇺🇸🇺🇸
