Do you recognize this… lizard? 🤨🦎

Animal Control Officer Austin got a call about an iguana wandering around the 3600 block of Esperanza Dr. in Round Rock and promptly came to the rescue.

We’re hoping the owner sees this and comes forward before ACO Austin has to start considering a permanent ride-along partner. We’re not sure the dogs and cats would appreciate the new coworker.

If you recognize this little guy, please contact the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter at (512) 943-3322.

Our Swift Water/Dive Rescue Team joined our partners at Williamson County Emergency Services for a joint training exercise focused on coordinated response efforts during a countywide flooding event.

The exercise simulated multiple swift water-rescue requests occurring at the same time, allowing teams to practice communication, resource coordination, and response efforts.

We're proud to work alongside the agencies and people who help keep the Williamson County community safe when they need us most!

Deputy Garretson joined the fun at Florence Elementary School today as part of Red Ribbon Week, sharing a quick D.A.R.E. lesson with students from Pre-K through 5th grade! 🎗

Pictured here are some of the second graders learning about making safe, healthy choices. A big thank you to Florence Elementary for having us and making Deputy Garretson feel so welcome.

NATIONAL FIRST RESPONDERS DAY

When the call comes, they answer. When seconds matter, they move. When our community needs them, they show up.

Today, we honor the men and women across Williamson County who run toward the danger, face the unknown, and put the safety of others before their own. From law enforcement and firefighters to EMS personnel and dispatchers, these are the people who stand ready to serve when it matters most.

To those who serve: We see your sacrifice. We respect your commitment. And we stand behind you. Thank you for answering the call, every single day.

Do you recognize these two pups? 🐾

Our animal control officers were able to safely secure this girl (black short haired) and boy (white long haired) after they were spotted wandering in traffic near SH 29 & RM 1869 in Liberty Hill.

If they look familiar, they are currently safe and being cared for by the amazing staff at the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter.

To claim ownership, you will need to provide:
• Your name, address, phone number
• A photo of your pet or veterinary records.

No microchips, tags or collars. They are both pretty skittish, so we'd love to be able to locate their owner quickly.

Sergeant Prior had a spooktacular time at the Trunk or Treat at Building Kidz School in Leander! From handing out Halloween safety bags, coloring books, and bracelets to sharing plenty of candy, she loved helping make the event extra sweet while keeping all the little ghouls and goblins safe. 🎃

Thank you to Building Kidz School for welcoming us. We’re grateful to be part of such a wonderful community.

A little kindness goes a long way, and this one meant so much to our team.

Last month, our Crime Scene Investigation Unit visited East View High School for the second year to meet with students studying forensic science and share more about their work as Crime Scene Specialists.

Today, their teacher, Ms. Hoffmeister, surprised the team with thank-you baskets, including handwritten notes from her students. Since our visit, we’ve also welcomed several students and their parents for agency tours, and some are seriously considering careers in forensic science.

Thank you to Ms. Hoffmeister and her students for your thoughtful gesture. We’re proud to be a part of a community that inspires young people and look forward to seeing where their interest in forensic science takes them. 💙
