GEORGETOWN FIRE DEPARTMENT

This week, we had the opportunity to present former Fire Chief Tim Thompson with his retirement gift. Chief Thompson retired at the end of July 2025 after years of service and dedication to the Georgetown Fire Department and our community.

We’re grateful for his leadership, commitment, and contributions to the department, and we wish him all the best in his retirement!

Again, thank you for your service, Chief Thompson! 🚒

Congratulations Jr. Fire Marshal Wilkins. The Georgetown Fire Department is excited to have you on board! 🚒

October is a great month to check your smoke detectors! Make sure detectors are in proper working condition, the batteries have been changed and they are less than 10 years old. Reach out to the Fire Department with any questions or concerns. 502-863-7833

Today Engine 1 visited the awesome Preschoolers at St. John Catholic School. What a great group! They learned about fire drills, got to dress up like a firefighter and showed us their "Stop, Drop, Roll and Cover Your Face" skills. The school was excited to have us there, the other classes joined in for a more advanced fire talk. And everyone got the see the engine! Thanks for letting us hang out with you! 🚒😃
