Gettysburg is a small town made famous by one of the most important battles of the Civil War and the most significant speech made in American history. Surrounded by farmland and quaint towns, Gettysburg Area School District serves students in a 185-square mile area that includes Gettysburg Borough, Cumberland, Highland, Franklin, Freedom and parts of Straban and Mount Joy townships. The Gettysburg National Military Park, Gettysburg College and the Lutheran Theological Seminary are within the district. Gettysburg Area School District features three kindergartens through fifth-grade buildings, one middle school (grades 6-8) and one high school (grades 9-12). The experienced, dynamic staff provides quality education for all students.

💫 Connecting Warriors to Community Through Service Learning!

What happens when you give eighth graders the chance make their mark on the community? We're excited to find out!

Last month, our GAMS eighth graders met representatives from Special Olympics, Gettysburg Area Recreation Authority (GARA), Adams County Arts Council, Foursquare Church, and Gettysburg Garden Club to discover the service-learning projects they can be part of this school year.

Each organization brought new opportunities for students to explore their interests, lend their talents, and discover what it means to serve others.

A huge thank you to our community partners for helping launch a year of service, new experiences, and plenty of Warrior pride. We can't wait to see what our eighth graders accomplish!

💗 Warrior Pride with Purpose!

A little pink made a big impact.

Our GAHS marketing management students presented a $1,505.92 check to the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition through their Pink Out campaign.

We're of these Warriors for putting their marketing skills to work through GAHS School Store sales for a meaningful cause, raising awareness and supporting the fight against breast cancer. A special thank you to the staff members who shared their time and expertise to help make this campaign a success! Way to go, Warriors.

🏑UNDEFEATED. UNSTOPPABLE. DIVISION CHAMPIONS!

For the first time since 2016, our GAHS Field Hockey team has claimed the Mid-Penn Colonial Division Championship, and they're bringing home the title with an undefeated division record!

This championship wasn't earned overnight. It's the result of countless hours of hard work, dedication, and a team that has pushed one another to be better, both on and off the field.

We are of you all. A big congratulations to our players and coaches on an incredible accomplishment! Way to go, Warriors! 🙌

In honor of Boss’s Day, we’re celebrating GASD Superintendent Dr. Jeffrey Matzner and Assistant Superintendent Dr. Matthew McFarland!

While their job descriptions might look a little different from what our students imagine, one thing is certain: their commitment to our students, staff, and schools makes a difference every day.

🚀 Learning takes flight at GAMS!

Our eighth-grade Warriors put science into motion during World Space Week! In Ms. Stump's class, students designed and launched water rockets to explore the relationship between forces and motion, putting classroom concepts to the test through hands-on learning.

From building their rockets to watching them soar, students embraced the challenge, explored new ideas, and showed how far curiosity and commitment can take them. Way to go, Warriors!

⛳Tokar is on course for States!

GAHS freshman Parker Tokar has punched his ticket to the PIAA Golf Championships after his incredible performance at the District 3 Championship.

Tokar is coming off an impressive Mid-Penn season, where he captured the Mid-Penn Golf Championship, becoming the first individual golf league champion from GAHS since 2010.

Now, it's on to State College! Tokar will compete in the PIAA Golf Championships Oct. 19-21 at the Penn State Golf Courses.

Congratulations, Parker! We're of you and your hard work! 🙌
