Child abuse and neglect cases have increased every year in Adams County, translating to an increased need for our services. But at our current location (a single-family house located at 450 West Middle Street in Gettysburg), we can serve only one family at a time.

This year's Giving Spree, we're asking for your support of the new Brighter Tomorrows Center, a more functional space to meet children’s needs, serve multiple families simultaneously, and conduct outreach and prevention education trainings.

As the forever home of the ACCAC, this facility will bring the Adams County community together, both public entities and private citizens. Will you help us raise $150,000 this year to build brighter tomorrows for our children?

We’re listed as charity #8 in the donor guide and form. For ways to give, visit: https://www.adamscountycf.org/grants-scholarships/giving-spree-registration/

Young children ages 2–6 don’t have enough life experience yet to fully understand complex or difficult situations.

At this age, they naturally focus on how things affect them and the people closest to them—like family members and caregivers—because those relationships are at the center of their world.

That’s why it’s important to talk about big or difficult topics in a calm, reassuring, and age-appropriate way. Most importantly, help them feel safe and remind them that the grown-ups around them are there to care for and support them.

Parents and caregivers have the most critical role in their child’s healing.

Many children who visit ACCAC have been traumatized by past and ongoing experiences. We want to support you and convey that your child’s trauma can be healed.

The ACCAC staff are here to provide multiple services in one location to help children and families heal from the trauma of abuse. To learn more about the Center, visiting, and the services we provide, visit: https://kidsagaincac.org/visiting-our-center/

Our Prevention Education program started in 2012 and has grown to include all school districts across Adams County. Each lesson is designed to be age specific per grade level, ensuring the children are receiving appropriate and relevant information. In the 2025-2026 fiscal year, we empowered 6,965 individuals with prevention education lessons.

$2 covers the cost for one student to receive free, school-based Prevention Education lessons. Your donation to the 2026 Giving Spree allows ACCAC to continue providing these critical lessons for youth across Adams County, ensuring all children know what to do if the unthinkable happens.

Donate online at www.accfgivingspree.org or in person at the Wyndham Gettysburg on November 5th.

We need your help building Brighter Tomorrows for child abuse victims on October 27 at our Brighter Tomorrows Center Connection Session.

Whether you have already attended our first two sessions or are thinking of attending this one, we want to hear from you!

All are welcome to share their thoughts about how the Center can best support child victims and how we can work together to prevent child abuse in Adams County.

Every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and heard. Sometimes, a teacher, aide, counselor, secretary, or principal is the first to notice when something about a child has changed.

They know the child well enough to see when they’re struggling, even when the child doesn’t have the words to explain why.

A child who can’t yet explain what happened can still pick up a marker. They can draw themself standing in the sunlight, imagining their brighter tomorrow.

A gift to the new Brighter Tomorrows Center Educators’ Fund supports the tools—like markers, crayons, and colored pencils used as therapy tools—that give hope to children. Donate here: https://kidsagaincac.org/educators-fund/

At Adams County Children's Advocacy Center, we will always listen to children and what they have to tell us. Through Advocates guiding children throughout the process, Forensic Interviewers giving children the opportunity to talk about their experiences, and our Trauma Therapist helping children process on their own timeline, we ensure children know their voices are heard.

We can provide on-going Advocacy Services, with no cost or time-limit for the family, with only $387. Every Giving Spree donation can help ensure every one of the 200+ children visiting our center each year receive personalized support from our Advocates. Will you help cover the cost of Advocacy for a child abuse victim?
