Mark your calendars and stop by the New Hanover Township Police Department on October 24, between 10:00am and 2:00pm, to dispose of any expired or unused medications.

The New Hanover Township Police Department is a drop-off location for unused or expired medication for Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, October 24th. You can bring the medication to our station from 10am to 2pm for appropriate disposal. 2373 Hoffmansville Rd, Frederick, PA 19435.

The sun is offering a welcome respite from yesterday's rainy day! Stop by Swamp Creek Park to soak up extra vitamin D and enjoy the Township's beautiful fall foliage. Located at 3179 Reifsnyder Road in Gilbertsville, Swamp Creek Park is one of seven New Hanover community parks and offers a walking trail, model aviation field, playground, pavilion with picnic tables, wildlife, and stunning fall colors. Swamp Creek Park is also dog-friendly! 🐾

This is a great opportunity to safely dispose of unused or expired medications and help prevent prescription drug misuse in our community.

📢 SOLICITATION NOTICE

Renewal by Andersen has obtained a solicitation permit that is effective today, September 14, through September 17, and also on September 20.

Rooffox Roofing is currently the only other company with a solicitation permit. Their permit is valid from May 5, 2026, through May 4, 2027.

🚨 If someone comes to your door to solicit without a Township permit, whether or not you are on the “No Solicitation” list, please report it.

During normal business hours (8:00 AM–5:00 PM):

Outside of normal business hours:

An officer will be dispatched to assist.

⚠️ Please do not rely on posting about the incident on Facebook. Facebook posts will not result in an immediate response and may make it more difficult to identify and locate the solicitors.

When reporting a solicitor, please provide as much information as possible:

📍 Address where it occurred
🏢 Name of the solicitation company
🧾 Name or description of the individual, if available

To register your address on the Township’s “No Solicitation” list, visit:

If you have already registered for the “No Solicitation” list, you do not need to register again.

Please also be aware that adding your name to the “No Solicitation” list will not be effective for the current Renewal by Andersen or Rooffox Roofing solicitations, as these companies have already received the Township’s “No Solicitation” list.

Your reports help us ensure the safety and peace of our community. Thank you for your cooperation!

Landowners and residents of NHT who do not wish to be contacted by peddlers at their properties may submit the form below to be placed on the Do Not Solicit Registry.
