A heartfelt thank you to Allen College for the thoughtful care packages and for recognizing Gilbertville Fire & Rescue and the work of first responders.

We especially appreciate your efforts to honor two significant milestones in 2026 β€” the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

Thank you also to AmeriCorps and 9/11 Day for providing the grant that made this project possible, allowing Allen College to put together and distribute these appreciation packages to first responders throughout the Cedar Valley.

Your generosity, support, and recognition of those who serve our communities mean a great deal to all of us at Gilbertville Fire & Rescue.

Thank you for remembering, honoring, and supporting our first responders! πŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

This Thursday night is our first Fill the Boot for MDA event at the Bosco volleyball game! πŸš’πŸ₯ΎπŸ

πŸš’ Gilbertville Fire & Rescue is proud to be able to do TWO Fill the Boot fundraising nights for MDA in our community over the next month!

A HUGE thank you to Don Bosco for allowing us to set up our Fill the Boot table at both a volleyball game (Sept 17th) and a football game (Oct 2nd). Your support makes opportunities like this possible, especially in a small community like ours, and we truly appreciate it! πŸ’™πŸ’›

We’re excited to be part of the long-standing partnership between firefighters and the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). For years, firefighters across the country have come together to Fill the Boot and help support individuals and families affected by muscular dystrophy and related diseases.

We hope to see you at both events! Come out, enjoy the game, and help us Fill the Boot! πŸ₯ΎπŸš’

25 YEARS. NEVER FORGOTTEN. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Twenty-five years ago today, our nation was forever changed by a terrorist attack that took thousands of innocent lives.

As tragedy unfolded, first responders ran toward the danger β€” firefighters, police officers, EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers, and countless others who put the lives of others before their own. Many never came home.

Today we remember the thousands of civilians who lost their lives, the families left behind, the hundreds of first responders who never made it out alive, and the first responders who survived but continue to carry the emotional scars and illnesses from that day.

25 years later, we remember. We honor. We will NEVER forget. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸš’πŸš‘πŸš“
