Please support and vote for the candidates who will work for our communities, not for big donors or special interests or partisan ideology.

“In it for the money.” I feel I need to dispel a huge myth here. Lately, I have heard a lot that politicians are all in it for the money. A state representative in NH is essentially a volunteer position. The compensation is $100 per year, plus mileage reimbursement for driving to Concord. Oh, I almost forgot about the fancy state representative license plate, we also get to pay for out of pocket.

We offer to dedicate our time to sit on committees and serve you. We are not meeting lobbyists for fancy luncheons or winging off to exotic vacation locales. Most of us have jobs, families, and other commitments but are dedicated to our communities - and that is why we run and make the time for you, us, and our future together.

My campaign will cost me about 10 times what I will be paid if elected, and I am not running a very large operation. I have some yard signs and rack cards, plus a phone number and a mailbox to keep everything sorted and reduce the incredible amount of spam we get when our contact information hits the web.

So, who can afford to run and who has the time to campaign? Mostly the wealthy who have plenty of both. So, why do the rest of us do it? Love of our community.

Please consider donating to a local candidate which makes a huge impact on their ability to campaign. Every dollar matters in smaller races. Thank you!
