Gilmer Police Department Announces Acquisition of New Tactical Vehicle

The Gilmer Police Department is proud to officially announce the addition of a new vehicle to our fleet!

This vehicle was obtained through the Texas Law Enforcement Support Office (LESO) Program, which helps law enforcement agencies acquire equipment needed to better serve and protect their communities. The vehicle was obtained at no cost to the citizens of Gilmer.

This equipment will enhance our department’s ability to respond to a variety of critical situations, including high-risk warrant service, natural disasters, flooding and high-water emergencies, search and rescue operations, medical evacuations, and critical incidents such as active shooter situations.

The Gilmer Police Department is committed to taking a proactive approach to public safety. By investing in preparedness and ensuring our officers have the necessary equipment before an emergency occurs, we can better protect our citizens and provide assistance to surrounding communities when needed.

Our mission remains the same: to serve and protect the citizens of Gilmer while working to keep our community safe.

We are proud to continue preparing for the challenges that may arise and to ensure our department is equipped to respond when our community needs us most.

If you would like to see it in person it will be parked at the Upshur County Crime Stoppers building at 306 N Titus St.

Gilmer PD Visits Little House Pre-K 🚓💙

Officers had a great time visiting the kids at Little House Pre-K!

The kids got to check out a few of our patrol vehicles, learn more about law enforcement, and ask questions to Officer Baker, Officer Best, Sgt. Gallegos, and Investigator McMillon.

We always enjoy opportunities to connect with the youngest members of our community and build positive relationships early.

Thank you to Little House Pre-K for having us! 👮‍♂️👮‍♀️
