Nothing beats that new car smell 🚒

We officially welcomed our brand-new, third-generation Oshkosh Striker fire truck to the flightline with a traditional push-in ceremony.

This tradition dates back to the 1800s, when firefighters had to manually push horse-drawn steam engines back into station bays because horses couldn’t easily back them up. Team Luke kept that heritage alive by rolling up their sleeves to push this advanced rig into its new home.

Bringing in this cutting-edge vehicle highlights our commitment to innovative safety solutions. Our infrastructure continues to evolve alongside our weapon systems, ensuring we have the next-generation capabilities needed to secure our advanced fighter fleet.

Ready in every domain ⚔️

Airmen from the 56th Mission Support Group recently put their grit, teamwork, and expeditionary skills to the test during an MSG Readiness Day right here on base.

The training focused on critical combat readiness skills, including weapons handling, tactical combat casualty care, and physical fitness challenges. Squads also went head-to-head to see who could don their chemical protective gear the fastest, proving that speed and safety go hand-in-hand under pressure.

The sound of freedom meets the Fall Classic ⚾️✈️

In conjunction with Game 4 of the World Series, we welcomed baseball legends Luis Gonzalez and Tony La Russa to Luke Air Force Base to meet the Airmen who keep our mission flying every day.

Our greatest strategic asset is our people. This visit allowed these sports icons to connect directly with our professional Airmen, highlighting how their dedication, technical skill, and warrior mindset maintain our daily combat readiness.

We don’t train for easy days 💪

Check out the intensity on the ground during the recent 56th Civil Engineer Squadron Readiness Challenge.

Our Airmen pushed through exhausting physical demands, medical scenarios, chemical defense, and rapid shelter builds. We do not train for ideal conditions. We train to execute the mission with discipline, adapt under pressure, and deliver whenever and wherever we are needed.

During the exercise, our teams executed tactical combat casualty care scenarios, chemical defense procedures, and rapid shelter builds. These practical challenges test the daily discipline, technical excellence, and personal grit required to establish and defend air bases in any environment.

Forging the Future of Combat Airpower ✈️

Luke AFB recently welcomed Gen. Adrian Spain, commander of Air Combat Command, to see firsthand how the 56th Fighter Wing builds combat-ready Airmen and F-35 Lightning II pilots.

The visit highlighted our wing's new role following its realignment from AETC to ACC. This move aims to enhance readiness by streamlining the training pipeline for fighter aircraft units, allowing tactics and lessons from the field to immediately shape how we develop the next generation of lethal aviators.

By integrating more closely with the operational mission, we ensure our Airmen are more prepared than ever to counter emerging threats and dominate in current and future conflicts.

Reporting for Duty: Operation KIDS! 👶

We recently hosted our annual Operation KIDS event, giving Team Luke’s youngest members a chance to walk in their parents’ boots for a day.

This simulated deployment experience gives military children a firsthand look at what their parents may go through, from out-processing to flightline operations.

A ready force depends on resilient families. Events like Operation KIDS are a cornerstone of our commitment to supporting our military children and are a direct investment in the long-term readiness of our Airmen.

Warriors Honoring Warriors 🐎

In case you missed it, two of our own, Capt. Max Sarver and SrA Wyatt Lupien, were recently honored in the center of the arena at a Professional Bull Riders event for their decisive off-duty actions.

The two were recognized for providing rapid, life-saving aid to an individual on a local golf course. The honor was presented by U.S. Army veterans, including an original Green Beret from the legendary ‘Horse Soldiers,’ celebrating the readiness and character that unite all service members.

This is a powerful reminder that the warrior mindset and a commitment to action are a 24/7 responsibility. Congratulations again on this incredible and well-deserved recognition!
