Readiness is not an event, it is the standard!

Through Total Force Integration, we maintain and execute as one team in support of the F-35 mission at Luke AFB.

The 944th Fighter Wing proudly provides 40% of the F-35 instructor pilots and 20% of the maintenance force supporting that mission!

Reserve Airmen bring experience, professionalism and operational perspective that strengthen the force everyday. The result is a more capable team, a more resilient mission and air power ready when the nation calls. 🇺🇲

Join us as we congratulate and welcome U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Kevin C. Bunten, the new commander of the 69th Fighter Squadron!

A change of command ceremony was held to recognize the accomplishments and leadership of outgoing commander, U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Michael R. Broderick, while formally transitioning authority and responsibility to Bunten.

The ceremony is a military tradition deeply rooted in history that marked a new chapter for the squadron, while reinforcing its commitment to mission readiness and excellence.

One final flight. A history of service. 🇺🇸

Dating back to World War II, the fini flight is a time-honored military aviation tradition celebrating an aviator’s final flight with a unit, aircraft or before retirement. The tradition continued through the Vietnam War, when aircrews celebrated the completion of their final combat missions, and has since become a meaningful way for family, friends and fellow Airmen to mark the close of a chapter in an aviator’s career.

For Col. Bradley “V***r” Sullivan, that tradition marks the culmination of 23 years of service in the U.S. Air Force. V***r recently completed his fini flight and retirement ceremony, closing one chapter of a career dedicated to service, leadership and the mission. 🇺🇸

From the first flight to the fini flight, thank you, Col. Sullivan, for 23 years of dedicated service.

Blue skies and tailwinds, V***r! 👏✈️

The 944th Operations Group, Detachment 1, at Holloman AFB, unveiled a fresh paint scheme on its F-16 Fighting Falcon flagship this weekend, proudly representing the “Lobos.” 🔥

Inspired by the wolves native to the region, the Lobos name reflects the strength, teamwork and mission focus of a small, tight-knit pack. 🐺

Incredible work by our teammates out at Holloman AFB - 49th Wing!
