Preparing for live fire acquired structure training is a very involved ordeal. Today we had lots of help from neighboring agencies to prepare for the state level inspections. I truly appreciate everyone’s time and commitment to helping this go smoothly, minus the wasp stings. 😡

On Tuesday, August 25, the Glendale Volunteer Fire Department responded to a call for service at 554 West Glendale Hodgenville Rd at 6:46 pm. Upon arrival, early investigation and information indicated a Hazmat technical response was needed. A mutual aid request from Fort Knox Fire Department and Sonora Volunteer Fire Department was initiated. Efforts to mitigate the hazard were quickly implemented. Thanks to the great working relationships among our local departments, the situation was resolved and turned over to the occupants and their remediation company at 11:55 pm, August 25, 2026.

Thanks to everyone in our community who helped us make a difference! We raised $7,594 to help the crusade for children this year. Big thanks to those who helped collect and organize fundraisers this year.

❤️ THANK YOU, HARDIN COUNTY ❤️

The Hardin County Fire Chiefs Association would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone across our county who helped make the 73rd Annual WHAS Crusade for Children a tremendous success.

Because of the generosity of our community, an incredible $157,591.37 was raised to support children and families across Kentucky.

Thank you to every community member who stopped at a roadblock, made a donation, attended an event, or supported this cause in any way. Your kindness and generosity continue to make a lasting difference in the lives of children who depend on these services.

We would also like to recognize and thank the firefighters from every department across Hardin County who donated their time, energy, and effort throughout the Crusade season. Whether standing at roadblocks, organizing events, collecting donations, or supporting behind the scenes, your dedication to serving others reflects the very best of our fire service tradition.

This achievement would not have been possible without the partnership between our firefighters and the communities we proudly serve.

We are truly blessed to live in a county filled with compassionate people who consistently step forward to help those in need.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making this year's Crusade for Children such a remarkable success.

❤️ Together, we raised $157,591.37.
❤️ Together, we changed lives.
❤️ Together, we proved once again that Hardin County cares.
