We were grateful for the good weather this week as we completed domestic well testing in the Gun Club Estates neighborhood of Aurora. We tested approximately 10 wells to help us determine if nearby activities and facilities may be impacting private drinking water wells. Thank you to the residents who signed up for sampling!

CDPHE was part of a team that was recently awarded the Honor Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies, which recognizes the year’s most outstanding engineering achievements. The Pikes Peak Project, the project that received the award, is a Voluntary Cleanup and Redevelopment (VCUP) site for a single family housing project which will serve the people of Colorado Springs. This was a coordinated effort between CDPHE’s VCUP and Solid Waste units to help with the plans and ex*****on of the cleanup. Additionally, CDPHE’s Colorado Brownfields Revolving Loan fund, which assists with the cleanup of unused or underused properties, loaned them $2.4 million to help finance the cleanup.
