Resolutions, Goal Setting and Self-Care has been the topic of conversation this week.
In recent years, many people have decided to break traditions for the new year and chose a word of the year.

A personal word of the year is one single word you focus on throughout the year and how you can apply that word into your daily life.

The word you choose is everything from ideas, concepts and will drive what you do. This isn't a goal or a resolution but how you will live your life for the upcoming year.
The word should be displayed somewhere that you see it every day and you can stay on target, be focused and when you need a reminder it's there.
Here are a few things you can do to help you choose your word of the year:

1. Brainstorm
Write down things that come to your mind immediately, what inspires you and how you are feeling.

2. The word should be positive and powerful to you.

3. The word should reflect the path or direction you want to take.

4.If you are setting goals or have a resolution as well, then your word should enhance these efforts.

5. Ask yourself questions.
What do you want this year?
Where do you see life going?
What do you want to improve or change?
Dig deep. If you have difficulty try writing to come up with your questions.

6.Narrow your words down to a list of no more than 5 words.
Go through each word. Are there any similarities? Any that you no longer want? You should be left with one. If you're not at one word, then focus on what you want for the first few months and apply that word.

7. Use your word in your daily affirmations.

There's No Greater Gift than the Gift of Life. The ability to transplant organs and tissues is one of the greatest success stories in modern medicine.

Thanks to organ donation, many people with life- threatening illnesses can look forward to a future and a second chance at life.

Living organ donation is when a living person donates an organ or part of an organ to transplant into another person.

Benefits

Living donation has many benefits, including:

Reducing wait times: Living donors can choose who receives their organ, which can reduce the wait time for the recipient.

Better outcomes: Recipients of organs from living donors have better outcomes than those who receive organs from deceased donors.

Preventing or shortening dialysis: Living kidney donation can prevent or shorten the need for kidney dialysis.

Today, we celebrate the life of our founder's grandmother (NANNY).

This Spring we hope to launch new programs for all the children impacted by chronic kidney disease and all children in the community.

Florie's Flowers is our program dedicated to children with chronic kidney disease.

Named in honor of our founder's Nanny "Florie" was an inspiration to many.
A strong. independent woman, mother of twelve, wife and a kidney warrior.

Our programs are kid-friendly and designed to aid in the process of living with and raising a child with CKD.
We provide kidney health coaching, host awareness events, provide tote bags for dialysis patients and hospitalization plus host hobby clubs.

Cleaning out your closet to make room for all your new things received this Christmas?

We are accepting donations of new items only for our upcoming raffles.

We will be hosting a donation drive of all items that we can raffle off in February.

Items MUST be NEW, UNOPENED & UNUSED
We are accepting small kitchen appliances, spa items, household items, games, toys, sporting goods and gift cards.

Donations are being accepted from January 1 to January 31.

Donations are tax-deductible. To arrange drop-off or pick up please call or text 718-200-1873.

Our 2nd Annual Dirty Bingo was this September. It's sassy, one of a kind and the most fun you'll have with your clothes on.

All the money raised goes to our services and activities. With this years donations you directly impacted people with kidney disease by helping us start new programs for our children's program Florie's Flowers.

We're hoping to kickoff the programs in Spring 2025.
