Today, the members of Glen Moore Fire Company pause to remember and honor the 2,977 innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the countless families, friends, and communities forever changed by that tragic day.

We especially remember the 343 members of the FDNY, along with the 23 NYPD officers, 37 Port Authority Police officers, and 8 EMS personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice while responding to those in need.

Twenty-five years later, their courage, selflessness, and sacrifice continue to serve as a powerful reminder of what it means to answer the call and put others before ourselves.

We honor those we lost.
We remember those who served. We stand with those who continue to carry the weight of that day.

Never forget.

The Glen Moore Fire Company has officially placed a new command vehicle into service. This vehicle's unit designation is Command 48.

Command 48 is a 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe SSV equipped with an undercover emergency lighting and siren package by SoundOff Signal.

This unit is designed to support incident command operations from both the front and rear workstations, providing enhanced flexibility and efficiency on emergency scenes.

The vehicle features a dedicated gear storage compartment that is sealed and isolated from the passenger cabin, helping to reduce exposure to contaminants and carcinogens by keeping turnout gear and equipment separate from the breathing air inside the vehicle.

Command 48 replaces the previous command vehicle, which has been reassigned within the fleet as a utility resource to support a variety of emergency response operations.

The addition of Command 48 enhances the company's command capabilities while further supporting firefighter health and safety initiatives.

Yesterday, the Glen Moore Fire Company remained busy as crews responded to multiple emergencies throughout the day.

The first call was to assist East Brandywine Fire Company with a house fire in West Brandywine Township. After returning to the station, crews were dispatched to assist Twin Valley Fire Department with an outbuilding fire in East Nantmeal Township.

Engine 48-5 responded and established a water supply using a porta tank and tanker shuttle operations to support fire suppression efforts. Engine 48-2 established a nearby fill site to supply the tankers operating at the scene.

While crews were returning to the station from the second fire, they were dispatched once again, this time for a motor vehicle accident on Creek Road in Wallace Township.

We appreciate the dedication of our volunteers and thank our mutual aid companies for their teamwork and professionalism.

Congratulations to Firefighter Jason Piccola on this outstanding accomplishment and dedication to serving our community. We are proud to have you as a member of the Glen Moore Fire Company!
