We’re celebrating National Friends of Libraries Week! Our Friends groups are one of our greatest resources; Friends groups support libraries through fundraising, advocacy, volunteering, and so much more. You may recognize our Friends from community events, Elkins Park book sales, or helping out at your local branch.

If you are not already a Friends member, now’s the perfect time to join us and support the library! Call or stop by the Elkins Park or Glenside Library for more information on how to get involved. 📚

C is for Cheltenham!

These fuzzy friends stopped by the CTLS table at the Wall House Community Fair on Sunday. We didn't have any desserts to offer, but Cookie Monster is always welcome to devour a good book (or two, or three) at the library!🍪

Last Saturday's Mending Café was phenomenal! It was a miserable weather day, but 5 volunteers and 8 attendees showed up so that the mending, learning, and community-building could happen, rain or shine. Many thanks to Kate and Becca from the Sewing Room in Jenkintown, Vicki and Suzi, and our own Allie for sharing their expertise. Participants gave the program and the "helpful" "warm" "welcoming" "approachable" volunteers rave reviews. People left with some new skills and increased confidence about mending their items at home. Can't wait for the next one!

Let books be! This year, public libraries, schools, and educational institutions faced another unprecedented wave of book censorship.

Our CTLS Banned Books Week displays highlight many of these targeted and censored books. Go on a blind date with a banned book from the Glenside Library display or browse EP's display of frequently banned books.

Check them out this week and year-round at your Cheltenham Township Libraries. 📚
