🚒🔥 THOMAS CORNERS FIRE DEPARTMENT — YOUR COMMUNITY NEEDS YOU! 🔥🚒
BIG NEWS FOR VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS IN NEW YORK STATE!
There has never been a better time to consider joining your local volunteer fire department!
With Governor Kathy Hochul's newly increased volunteer firefighter tax credits, New York State is recognizing the dedication and sacrifice of the men and women who volunteer their time to protect their communities.
đź’° NEW YORK STATE VOLUNTEER TAX CREDIT
• $800 for eligible volunteer firefighters.
• $1,600 for married couples when both spouses qualify.
Tax credits are subject to New York State eligibility requirements.
❤️ THIS IS ABOUT MORE THAN A TAX CREDIT — IT'S ABOUT OUR COMMUNITY!
Thomas Corners Fire Department is a 100% volunteer fire department, made up of everyday people who step away from their families, jobs, dinners, and sometimes their beds in the middle of the night to answer the call for help.
When someone calls 911, they aren't thinking about whether the firefighter responding is getting paid. They just need someone to show up.
And that's exactly what our volunteers do.
We respond because we care about our neighbors. We respond because we believe in helping others. We respond because this is OUR community, and we want to keep it safe.
But to continue providing this important service, WE NEED MORE VOLUNTEERS!
đźš’ WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN THOMAS CORNERS?
âś… Free firefighter training and educational opportunities
âś… EMT training opportunities
âś… Retirement benefits for eligible members
âś… Free gym access
âś… Opportunities to become a fire apparatus driver
âś… Learn valuable lifesaving skills
âś… Build lifelong friendships
âś… Become part of a team that makes a difference
You don't need to have experience to get started. We provide training, guidance, and the opportunity to learn alongside experienced firefighters.
Not everyone has to run into a burning building. There are many ways to help, and every dedicated volunteer makes our department stronger.
🏡 A STRONG VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT MEANS A STRONGER COMMUNITY.
Having dedicated local volunteers helps ensure that when emergencies happen, trained people are ready to respond. Supporting volunteer fire departments also helps communities maintain essential emergency services.
The new tax credit is a welcome way to recognize those who give their time, but the greatest reward will always be knowing you helped someone on one of the worst days of their life.
We need the next generation of volunteers to step forward.
Whether you're 18 or 60, whether you've lived here your entire life or just moved into the neighborhood, we'd love to meet you and talk about how you can become involved.
