🎆 Fireworks Reminder 🎆
Happy 4th of July, the Glyndon Police Department wants to remind residents to enjoy the festivities safely.
🔥 Know What’s Legal in Minnesota, only non-explosive, non-aerial fireworks are allowed for personal use. That means sparklers, cones, fountains, and similar items are okay. But firecrackers, bottle rockets, Roman candles, and anything that explodes or flies into the air are illegal. Please dispose of your garbage appropriately.
Safety first!
• Only use Minnesota-legal fireworks like sparklers, fountains, ground spinners and snappers.
• Point fireworks away from people and animals.
• Have a bucket of water and a fire extinguisher ready.
• Use fireworks in an open area away from trees and houses.
• Extinguish and dispose of spent fireworks in a bucket of water.
• Do not try to relight a dud.
• Always use caution around fireworks and make sure children are supervised.
Enjoy a dazzling professional fireworks display near you. It’s safer, easier, and just as spectacular!
🎖️ Freedom means caring for those who fought for it. If you’re planning fireworks at home this year, please be aware that they can be difficult for veterans with PTSD and others sensitive to loud noises. Small acts of kindness can go a long way.
🐾 Fireworks can be a dazzling spectacle for people, but for pets, they often translate into a terrifying experience. The unexpected booms and flashes can cause extreme stress and anxiety for animals, leading to behaviors such as hiding, trembling, or even running away in fear. Please keep your pet secure and have current contact information on them.
