We've been doing this long enough that not too much surprises us... We've seen cruelty, neglect, abandonment, sexual abuse, and everything in between. But this one... this one hurts a little extra for some reason. Maybe just because it's a young puppy. Maybe because this puppy is still so trusting of people. Maybe just because we are so weary of cases like this.

This is Ducky. We changed his name because he deserved a fresh start. Ducky's previous owner allegedly killed Ducky's sibling and Ducky was found on the same property with this traumatic injury. (Criminal charges are pending so we can't say much more than that, but we'd like to applaud the Goddard Police Department for their hard work on this case.) Animal cruelty should be treated like any other felony case, and they are pushing hard to make that happen! We have no idea how an 8-week-old puppy (at the time of the incident) could have made someone so incredibly angry that they could kill one puppy and beat another...

Ducky needs a hip surgery in order to be able to live pain-free again. The head of his femur snapped off just below the hip joint so it's not stable enough for a growing active puppy. (X-ray will be in the comments.) We would LOVE to try to raise enough funds to cover this lifechanging surgery for Ducky! Please help us raise $1500! If you can help, THANK YOU. If you can't, please consider sharing so that others may see Ducky's plea. Thank you!

During the Sept. 8th City Council meeting, the City Council unanimously adopted Ordinance #1053, which governs the use of micromobility devices and electric bicycles in the City of Goddard.

The following infographic summarizes the information in the new ordinance, which is available at: https://www.goddardks.gov/447/Micromobility-Ordinance.

There is also a FAQ at the link above that might be more helpful than the infographic.

This is a summary for informational purposes only.
