The flow chart has a lot of paths, but they all lead to the same answer: give wildlife space. ๐Ÿฆ

Wild animals can carry germs like rabies and salmonella, along with ticks and fleas.

If an animal is sick, dead or acting strangely, donโ€™t touch it. Contact local animal control instead.

Admire from a distance. Skip the petting. ๐Ÿ’š www.jeffco.us/2363/Animal-Borne-Disease

This dynamic team joined together to get a better understanding of what makes native plants thrive. Their project tested several key factors, including planting medium, timing, and fertilization, to see how each influences longโ€‘term success in restoration sites.

Curious what they found and how these insights can strengthen future restoration efforts? Join us on November 4 to hear their results and practical takeaways for land managers.

"When I think about wildfire in Colorado, it's a growing concern. You're reminded of how fragile we are and how dependent we are on the clean air and those healthy forests." Watch this visually striking short film and hear from local Coloradans about their relationships with nature and healthy forests.

๐Ÿ‚ On Saturday, September 26, 389 energetic volunteers came together at 11 project sites throughout Jefferson County to celebrate National Public Lands Day! Their incredible combined efforts resulted in 5,700 pounds of trash collected, 564 trees & native plants planted, and more than 500 feet of trail restored.

๐Ÿ’š What an amazing demonstration of what can be accomplished when our community comes together to care for our public lands. The dayโ€™s success would not have been possible without the support and collaboration of our partners from City of Wheat Ridge Government, City of Golden, Colorado - Municipal Government, City of Arvada Government, City of Lakewood, Colorado, and Denver Mountain Parks Foundation.

โ›” CLOSED: Meyer Ranch Park is fully closed for forest health work on October 19. Closure expected through Spring 2027.

โš ๏ธNOTICE: Starting October 19, Meyer Ranch Park will be fully closed for forest health work. The closure is expected to continue through spring 2027, weather permitting.

The project will require a full park closure for visitor safety. The main trailhead parking lot and neighborhood access points will also be closed during this time.

The primary goals of this project are ponderosa pine and aspen enhancement and wildfire risk reduction. Flying J Ranch and Reynolds Park provide nearby similar recreation opportunities.
