Not happy with the way things are going in Goleta? Well, if you live in District 1 or 2, you can do something about it. DON'T VOTE FOR THE INCUMBENT!
Instead, vote for a local business owner that actually runs a business in Goleta.
The current city council members represent their party over their people. Let's get some real local people to represent us. No more career politicians.

And if you don't live in one of those districts, encourage your friends that do to vote for a change.

Walking through Old Town Goleta we notice a lot of merchant support for Phebe Mansur. Think she has a chance against the incumbent Kyriaco and his political machine that's funded by developers?

Climate change seems to be an important issue for our elected leaders, sometimes. But they choose to ignore the fact that chopping down hundreds of mature trees directly affects our atmosphere and our environment. Additionally, paving over hundreds of acres of open space adds to the urban heat island and keeps rainfall from soaking into the earth and recharging our aquifers. So the next drought cycle will come sooner and last longer.
Remember this when we are forced to ration water. Remember this when you step into the voting booth.

And so it begins....
All the Gavin Lovers will defend this, but it's only the beginning. And can't we all agree, it's insane to force every city to build thousands of homes, while admitting we don't have that much water?

4293 new housing units are in the pipeline for Noleta!
4293.... all packed in between Ward Memorial and Turnpike Road. Imagine the traffic that will bring. Imagine the water they will use.

San Marcos Ranch=956 units
Tatum Project=517 units
5050 Hollister=206 units
Giorgio Orchard=1096 units
Ekwill Project=320 units
Caird Project=1198 units

Who would let this happen? Your County Supervisors. The same Supervisors that say they are staunch environmentalists, but Sacramento just awarded them for being so "Pro-Housing".

Add to that, the 448 units in the pipeline and under construction in the city of Goleta.

That makes 4741 new housing units between Turnpike and Wi******er Canyon.
4741.

And if you think prices will go down when these are all done, you are mistaken. The supply will never meet the demand to live in the best climate in the nation.
