🇺🇸Today, we pause to remember September 11, 2001, and the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost that day.

We remember the civilians who went to work, boarded planes, traveled, and began what seemed like an ordinary morning never knowing it would be their last. We remember the families who lost husbands, wives, mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, siblings, friends, and loved ones. We remember the empty chairs at dinner tables and the lives forever changed.

We also honor the brave firefighters, police officers, EMTs, military personnel, and other first responders who ran toward the danger to help others. Among them were the 343 FDNY members who made the ultimate sacrifice.

More than 25 years later, the pain of that day remains for so many families, but so does the courage, compassion, and unity that followed.

Today, we remember every life lost, every family changed, and every person who answered the call to serve.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸🚒
