A little gear, a lot of learning! Our crews have been visiting local schools to show students their equipment, explain what firefighters do, and remind them that when they see us during an emergency, we’re here to help, not to scare them!

🔥 Fire Prevention Month Tip: Make sure your family has a fire escape plan and practice it together. Know two ways out of every room and choose a safe meeting spot outside!

Fire Prevention Month is all about keeping our community safe!

From knowing what to do when you hear sirens to making sure your home has working smoke alarms, small steps can make a big difference when it comes to fire safety.

🚨 This month, A Shift crew is reminding you that when an emergency vehicle approaches with flashing lights and sirens, South Carolina law requires drivers to pull over to the right and stop until it safely passes.

A little awareness goes a long way in protecting you, your neighbors, and the crews working to keep our community safe.

Let’s all do our part to prevent emergencies and help our first responders when every second counts!

🌧️ SEVERE WEATHER SAFETY | HURRICANE ISAIAS 🌧️

With the potential impacts of Hurricane Isaias expected in the Lowcountry this weekend, the City of Goose Creek Fire Department wants to remind everyone to take a few precautions to keep themselves and their families safe.

🧰 1. Prepare Ahead of Time
Make sure you have a preparedness kit ready for your family in the event of power outages or other severe weather conditions. Include essentials such as water, nonperishable food, flashlights, batteries, and necessary medications.

🚗 2. Be Cautious on the Roads
If you must travel, watch for flooded roadways and never drive through standing or moving water. Remember: TURN AROUND, DON’T DROWN! Even shallow water can be dangerous.

🌳 3. Report Storm Damage
If you encounter storm damage within the city, you can report it directly through the City of Goose Creek’s online storm damage reporting system:
