💙💛 A Thank You to Chief Lassley 💙💛

Today, we want to take a moment to recognize and thank Chief Chris Lassley for everything he does for the Gosnell Police Department and the citizens of Gosnell.

On October 8, 2001, Chief Lassley began his career in law enforcement. Today, we proudly recognize 25 years of dedication and service to the law enforcement profession.

Over the past year as Chief of the Gosnell Police Department, Chief Lassley has dedicated himself to helping, improving, and taking care of the officers who serve alongside him. He works every day to make sure his officers have the support, resources, and leadership they need to do their jobs safely and effectively.

At the same time, Chief Lassley continues to put the safety of the citizens of Gosnell at the forefront. He works every day to do everything he can to make our community safer for everyone who lives, works, and raises their families here.

Being a Chief of Police is about much more than wearing the badge. It means being there for your officers, supporting them, making difficult decisions, and doing everything possible to protect the community you serve. Chief Lassley has embraced that responsibility and continues to give his time and dedication to both his officers and the citizens of Gosnell.

Chief, all of us here at the Gosnell Police Department want to say THANK YOU for your leadership, dedication, and the countless hours you put into making our department and our community better.

We are proud to serve alongside you, and we appreciate everything you do for our officers, our department, and the City of Gosnell.

📢 OFFICIAL STATEMENT – GOSNELL POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Gosnell Police Department is aware of recent social media posts concerning a former member of the department and allegations involving overtime and other potential misconduct.

We believe in transparency, accountability, and maintaining the trust of the citizens we serve. The concerns referenced have been taken seriously and have been referred to appropriate outside agencies for independent review.

At this time, two separate state agencies are reviewing matters that have been referred to them. Because these reviews may involve ongoing investigations or administrative proceedings, the Gosnell Police Department cannot comment on the scope, status, or potential findings of those reviews.

Since Chief Chris Lassley took office, the department has implemented changes designed to strengthen oversight and accountability, including a defined chain of command and additional review and validation procedures.

We want our citizens to know that legitimate concerns will be addressed through the proper process, regardless of an individual’s current or former position with the department.

We encourage anyone with questions or concerns to contact the Gosnell Police Department. Citizens may also request an appropriate time to speak directly with Chief Chris Lassley, Detective Joshua Bromley, or Sergeant Zachary Phillips.

🎉 Celebrating 30 Years of Service! 🎉

The Gosnell Police Department would like to congratulate The Haven on celebrating 30 years of service to our community!

The Haven has spent the past three decades doing incredible work helping individuals and families throughout our community. We are grateful for their dedication, compassion, and commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, making this celebration especially meaningful. This month serves as an important reminder that domestic violence affects individuals and families in communities everywhere, and that victims and survivors deserve support, safety, and hope. Organizations like The Haven play a vital role in providing resources, support, and a safe place for those affected by domestic violence.

Corporal Wilson had the honor of representing the Gosnell Police Department at this special celebration and showing our gratitude for The Haven and all the great work they do.

The event also brought together representation from departments and communities throughout Mississippi County, including State Representative Joey Carr, the new manager of The Haven, Destiny Steele, Melissa Logan, the Mayor of Dell, and members of the Blytheville Fire Department, just to name a few.

The event was held at the Mississippi County Courthouse in Blytheville, where the front lawn was decorated with pinwheels and pom-poms in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

It was a great opportunity for members of our community and public safety agencies to come together and recognize an organization that has dedicated 30 years to serving and helping others.

From everyone at the Gosnell Police Department, thank you to The Haven for 30 years of service and for the positive impact you continue to make across our community. We would also like to welcome Ms. Steele in her new position and wish her continued success as she carries on the important work of The Haven throughout Mississippi County.

🚔 Gosnell Police Department Appreciation 💙💛

The Gosnell Police Department would like to give a BIG THANK YOU to Connie Bromley for her generous donation of Lighting Tactical First Responder Bags for our patrol officers!

These bags are a great addition to our officers’ equipment and will help them stay prepared while serving and protecting our community.

We truly appreciate Connie Bromley for her continued support of the Gosnell Police Department and her dedication to supporting our officers. Donations and community support like this mean so much to our department and our officers.

🚨 BURN BAN IN EFFECT — MISSISSIPPI COUNTY 🚨

The Gosnell Police Department would like to remind everyone that Mississippi County is currently under a Burn Ban. 🔥🚫

During a burn ban, please DO NOT conduct any outdoor burning, including burn piles, brush, leaves, trash, or other open burning.

With dry conditions, fires can spread quickly and become dangerous for our community and first responders.

We ask everyone to please follow the burn ban and help us keep Gosnell and Mississippi County safe.

If you see an unattended fire or a fire that is spreading, call 911 immediately.

The Gosnell Police Department became aware this morning that our department email accounts were compromised. Working alongside our IT support, we have identified and corrected the issue.

⚠️ If you received an email from a Gosnell Police Department email address containing a “secure attachment,” DO NOT OPEN THE ATTACHMENT.

Please report the email as phishing/spam and delete it immediately. This email is part of the scam and did not come from the Gosnell Police Department.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate everyone’s cooperation as we work to keep our community safe both in person and online.

If you have any questions or concerns about an email you received, please contact the Gosnell Police Department directly before opening any attachments.

🚔 SCHOOL TRAFFIC SAFETY REMINDER 🚔

We know school traffic in the mornings and afternoons can be stressful and frustrating. Our officers are working hard each day to keep everyone safe, direct traffic, and keep traffic moving as smoothly as possible.

We ask that all drivers please listen to and follow the instructions of Gosnell Police Officers who are directing traffic. Their priority is getting everyone through the school zones safely and efficiently.

⚠️ Please remember: When traffic is backed up in a turning lane, do not use the oncoming traffic lane to drive around the line. Doing so can violate Arkansas traffic laws and, more importantly, creates a serious risk of a collision.

Please be patient and wait your turn. You will get to where you are going. It is not worth putting yourself, your children, or other drivers in danger just to get around the line a little faster.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and patience as we work together to keep our students, parents, school staff, and community safe.

Slow down. Follow directions. Be patient. Stay safe. 💙💛

The Gosnell Police Department would like to wish all of our students, teachers, staff, and parents a safe, successful, and amazing school year!

As everyone gets back into the school-year routine, please remember:

🚗 Slow down in school zones
🚸 Watch for students walking and biking
🚌 Obey school bus stop signs and signals
🚙 Expect extra traffic during drop-off and pick-up
📱 Put the phone down and stay focused

According to The National Weather Service, a Tornado Watch has been issued for Gosnell, Arkansas until 11:00 PM CDT tonight (April 27).

Please stay weather-aware and be prepared to take action if conditions worsen. A watch means that conditions are favorable for tornadoes to develop.

🔹 Monitor local weather updates
🔹 Have a plan in place in case a warning is issued
🔹 Identify a safe shelter location (interior room, lowest level)
🔹 Keep your phone charged and alerts turned on
