This week my daughter picked a pumpkin with her school’s pumpkin carving contest in mind.
I had been seeing pumpkin houses on Instagram and knew my miniature enthusiast would love making one of her own. It has been in the refrigerator the last couple days in hopes that it will make it to Halloween.🤞🏾🎃
We rounded up paint, faux flowers and some of the extra minis from a past birthday party + a few others. It’s hard to capture all the details inside with my phone but you can see some of them in the next post .
p.s. This sweet storybook will be making its way to the Little Free Library!🎃✨

Still here.🖤✨

Pictured here is our collection of issues (we weren’t able to get the coveted Temple Grandin issue but bought the patch anyway!!). Not pictured are the personal collections of my daughters’, 17 (!!!) and 9, faves! There’s been something in Bravery for all of us. Even my mom has a couple issues.
We’ve been able to share Bravery with family + friends and those that visit our little free library. While my heart is sad that Bravery is saying goodbye I imagine all of the hands that will still flip through pages and pages. Thanks to print and the imprint left on the hearts of many, Bravery lives on.
I’m so blessed that in addition to the magazines and patches, I collected a wealth of memories, lessons and made some new friends in the process. It was truly an honor to be a part of some of these issues. I’m thankful that + allowed me to play a small role in their big dream.
And how exciting is it that my daughter’s art is in this final issue?! You already know we purchased extra and I’m headed back for more!
Bravery is having a closing sale, if you haven’t yet, you can still build your own collection and/or share Bravery with others. There are still so many amazing issues available and the coloring book is so good!✨

“I hum with a hundred hearts,
Each of us lifting a hand.
I use my strengths and my smarts,
Take a knee to make a stand.
I’m bright as the light each day brings.
There is Iove where my chance sings.”

Today is Native American Heritage Day.
Also today: Bravery Magazine®️]] is donating 100% of proceeds from the Susan La Flesche Picotte issue to the restoration of Dr. Susan’s 1913 hospital.
Learn more about the creation of a community center and wellness clinic for the Omaha Tribe and residents of the Walthill, Nebraska area via the link in Bravery Magazine®️]]’s profile. And head over there to purchase a copy or a few of the issue 16 as well! I say few because that’s what we did!🙌🏾📚
Initially, and not surprisingly, it sold out but as soon as it was back in stock I ordered a copy and this week during Bravery Magazine®️]]’s sale (it’s still happening!!) I ordered another to share in the little free library. It was an honor to get to be a part of the team behind this incredible issue and my hope is that it continues to make its way into the hands of kids and their grownups.
Today is the perfect day to share
Susan La Flesche Picotte’s story with someone.🩺✨

Sweet with a dash of spooky, and maybe some icky too, this book will have you waiting to be found by a ghost (because “ghosts are tricky to track down”).👀
This story reminds readers that sometimes things aren’t quite as scary as they seem, an open heart can change one’s perspective and pave the way for a friendship that feels like magic and can last a lifetime (or if you’re a ghost, beyond💀).
“A ghost is nearly impossible to find.
You can look til your face turns blue.
But if you’re a person who is sweet, warm and kind,
A ghost may come out and find you.”🖤
It’s hard not to smile and laugh even, reading this gem. It’s funny and heartwarming. And it is just too sweet not to share it, but I love it so much I think I’m going to order another copy for keeps.📚
