DCBE Acton VFD, alongside our friends at Pecan Fire Department, had a blast today visiting Cornerstone Christian Academy for Fire Prevention Week! 🚒❤️

🚨 THIS IS NOT A DRILL, FOLKS! 🚨

The RAIN is falling, the COOLER WEATHER is rolling in, and somewhere in Hood County, somebody is probably already digging out their hoodie and making a pot of chili!

WOOHOO!!

Your friends at DCBE Acton Volunteer Fire Department are just as excited as you are, but before we all run outside and celebrate, here are a few friendly reminders!

Slow it down! Wet roads can get slick quickly, especially after a dry spell.

Turn those headlights on! If your wipers are going, your headlights should be too!

Turn Around, Don’t Drown! Never drive through flooded roadways.

And most importantly…

ENJOY THIS BEAUTIFUL CHANGE IN WEATHER! We know we’ve all been waiting for it!

Stay safe, stay dry, and enjoy that hoodie weather!

Our firefighters responded to a couple of fire-related calls today, including a controlled burn off Davis Road and a smoke investigation on Ranch Road.

Just a friendly reminder! Even with the recent rainfall, fires can still start and spread quickly!

Please continue to use caution when burning outdoors, stay aware of your surroundings, and never leave a fire unattended.

❤️ Thank you to our firefighters for always being ready to answer the call!

🚒🔥 Fire Prevention Week is in FULL SWING! 🔥🚒

Our firefighters had an amazing time today joining Pecan Fire Department at Acton Elementary School to teach students all about fire safety! ❤️🚒

Students got to tour the fire trucks, see our firefighters gear up, and watch demonstrations of some of the tools and techniques we use to protect our community and fight fires! 👨‍🚒👩‍🚒

We loved seeing all the excitement, smiles, and curious faces as we shared what it means to be a firefighter!

A HUGE thank you to Acton Elementary for inviting us out, snapping pictures and allowing us to spend the day with your students! We always enjoy the opportunity to educate our future generations about fire safety! ❤️

September was a busy month, and October already has us running like crazy! 🚒🍂

We’re ready for cooler weather, fall fun, and even more opportunities to spend time with our amazing community. ❤️

One of our favorite parts of what we do is getting to share the many ways our firefighters train, learn, and continue building their skills to better serve and protect our community.

We’ve got plenty more coming this fall, and we can’t wait to share it all with you!

ALERT TO ACTON RESIDENTS
PLEASE USE CAUTION!

A rattlesnake was killed this evening in the parking lot of the Hood County Development District office, right next to the DCBE Acton VFD fire station.

Snakes are still out and moving, even as the temperatures begin to cool down. Please be extra cautious when walking outside, especially after dark, and keep a close eye on children and pets.

⚠️ Watch where you step and use caution around tall grass, brush, landscaping, and other areas where snakes may be hiding.

🩸 STOP THE BLEED Training

A couple of weeks ago, members of DCBE Acton VFD had the opportunity to complete STOP THE BLEED training!

This training gives our members another set of skills to use when seconds matter learning how to recognize life-threatening bleeding and take action quickly until additional medical care is available.

We’re always training, always learning, and always working to better serve our community. ❤️

Fire Prevention Week has officially started!!

DCBE Acton VFD was so excited to spend the morning at Oak Woods talking all things fire safety! ❤️

We loved answering all of their questions, talking about how to stay safe, and getting to spend some time with the kids!

Teaching fire safety early can make a BIG difference, and we’re excited for a fun week ahead!
