What a GREAT day of training at the SFFMA District 16 Fall Meeting & Training!

Today, firefighters from across District 16 came together for a day of learning, hands-on training, and brotherhood!
A number of our members had the opportunity to sharpen their skills in several important areas:

🚨 Command & Control – Building stronger leaders and improving incident management.

🚒 Pump Operations – Strengthening the skills needed to keep water flowing on the fireground.

🔥 Live Fire Training – Putting our skills to the test in realistic firefighting conditions.

🌊 Swiftwater Operations & Awareness – Learning the dangers of moving water and how to respond safely and effectively.

Days like today are what the fire service is all about! Training together, learning from one another, and building relationships between departments.

A huge THANK YOU to all the instructors, volunteers, departments, and everyone who helped make today’s training possible!

Different departments. One mission. Stronger together. 🚒💪

Please Join Us in Congratulating Steve Arredondo!

The Indian Harbor Volunteer Fire Department is proud to announce that our very own Steve Arredondo has been voted to become the next Chaplain for SFFMA District 16!

Steve has been a dedicated member of our department, always willing to lend a helping hand, offer encouragement, and provide support to those around him.

The role of a Fire Chaplain is an important one. Whether providing comfort during difficult times, supporting firefighters and their families, or simply being someone to lean on, it takes a special kind of person to serve in this position.

We know Steve will represent not only Indian Harbor VFD but all the departments throughout District 16 with compassion, integrity, and dedication.

Steve, we are incredibly proud of you and excited to see you take on this new role. District 16 is lucky to have you!

Congratulations, Chaplain Arredondo! 🚒🙏🇺🇸

One of our favorite parts of being members of the Indian Harbor Volunteer Fire Department is getting out into our community and spending time with the kids at our local schools!

During Fire Prevention Week, our firefighters have the opportunity to talk with students about fire safety, what to do in an emergency, and why it’s so important to have a fire escape plan at home. Of course, getting an up-close look at the fire trucks and equipment is always a big hit! 🚒👨‍🚒

Fire prevention starts with education, and there’s no better place to start than with our youngest community members. We love answering their questions, seeing their excitement, and hopefully inspiring a few future firefighters along the way.

A huge THANK YOU to our local schools, teachers, and staff for welcoming us and allowing us to spend time with your students.

🔥 Check your smoke alarms.
🏠 Have a family escape plan.
🚪 Know two ways out.
📞 In an emergency, call 911.
