Endorsement of Kelsey Perdue:
Though this is Kelsey’s first campaign, she has a long and proven track record of working with and for the community here in Grand Rapids. She has served as the President and Board Member for Healthy Homes of West Michigan, was a member of the Equitable Economic Development Strategic Planning Committee, was appointed by Governor Whitmer to the Education Subcommittee of the Black Leadership Advisory Council, and is currently the Project Director for Kids Count at the Michigan League for Public Policy. Kelsey’s leadership on the Grand Rapids Community Relations Commission was instrumental in passing the Human Rights Ordinance here in Grand Rapids. She worked tirelessly behind the scenes pushing for transparency and reform around Public Safety. A community member at our public forum summed it up best, “Many people in public office either understand their community or understand policy. Rarely do they understand both. Kelsey understands both.” Her energy, authenticity, intellect, and collaborative leadership style will bring an invaluable perspective to the commission. All this is why Equity PAC is proud to endorse Kelsey Perdue for 3rd Ward City Commissioner.

Endorsement of Lisa Knight:
Lisa has worked for years to connect community members, organizations, and those in power to foster equitable change in our community. As one community member said at our public forum, “She knows how to get back to people and to build consensus on an issue and to do the homework. “ These authentic relationships and the trust she was able to build led to her decision to run for City Commission. If elected, Lisa intends to use these collaborative relationships to fight for environmental justice, combat the affordable housing crisis in our city, and improve equitable access to City systems and services. Her tenacity and transparent, community-first approach are why Equity PAC is happy to endorse Lisa Knight for 2nd Ward City Commissioner in Grand Rapids.

Endorsement of Kurt Reppart:
In his first term as City Commissioner, Kurt consistently pushed and voted for accountability, transparency, and reform of policing in Grand Rapids. He was one of the only City Commissioners who supported the effort to move the GRPD budget to the Charter-mandated 32%. He leveraged his role on the Committee on Appointments by putting equity-minded community members in positions where their lived experiences informed the direction and decisions of the City's critical issues. Kurt introduced a resolution supporting Movimiento Cosecha's Drivers Licenses for All initiative. He supported the initial Participatory Budgeting Process, which allows residents to decide the allocations for $2 million in City funds. Kurt continues to fight for more green energy and environmental standards at a local level. Equity PAC is proud to endorse Kurt Reppart for 1st Ward Commissioner in Grand Rapids because of his humble, empathetic, and intentional leadership.
