This week was emotional as we said goodbye to Sergeant First Class Oquendo. He is moving to take over another recruiting station. Excited for his next adventure but sad to see him go as he has been the heartbeat of the office since 2019.

Today we remember a tragic day, a date that lives in infamy, December 7, 1941. 82 years ago today, that attack on Pearl Harbor, HI plunged the United States into WWII. Let us never forget those that were lost on this date and toast to their everlasting memory and legacy.

We had a great partnership with the West Michigan Whitecaps in 2023. We are thankful for their hospitality and the entire team at LMCU Ballpark! Looking forward to next year and especially with their on May 11, 2024!

No matter you age, it’s always an emotional day when a Future Soldier leaves for basic training. Even in his late 20’s, Future Soldier Molette is starting his career in the Army. Best of luck to you! Additionally, we were able to get him promoted to Private Second Class!

The Grand Rapids Army Recruiting Station partnered with the Marine and Navy Recruiting Stations to conduct an on-ice swear-in ceremony, conducted by the Great Lakes Recruiting Battalion Commander, at the Grand Rapids Griffins Veterans Day Game last weekend. Our own Station Commander, Sergeant First Class Andrew Candler, was even able to conduct the ceremonial puck drop to start the game!
