Post 2 will be placing Flags on Restlawn Cemetery Saturday May 23 starting at 9am. We will meet in the rear of the Cemetery. The address is 3450 Eastern Ave SE. we need all the help we can get to place over 1500 flags this year. 🇺🇸

THE SECOND POST OF THE DEPARTMENT OF MICHIGAN AMERICAN LEGION TO BE CHARTED WAS THE CARL A. JOHNSON POST 0002 OF GRAND RAPIDS MI. WHICH WAS GRANTED ITS CHARTER IN 1919. THE POST WAS NAMED IN MEMORY OF CARL A. OF THE INFANTRY, 3rd PLATOON, COMPANY M, 126th INFANTRY, 32nd DIVISION, UNITED STATES ARMY.

The May 2026 MI Legionnaire edition highlighted a Passport Visit to the Boat and Canoe Club. 258 had an abundance of members there to greet the Department visitors, but 2 and 356 were there also to exchange history and Post information. Article below...
