Update from Plainfield Charter Township regarding our parking lot. Please note that work begins on June 1 and will impact parking AND entering the library during part of the construction. Watch here for further updates.

"Additional improvements are also coming to the Plainfield Township Library this summer. During its May meeting, the Township Board approved using budgeted funds to replace the library parking lot.

The project will include:

A new parking lot surface
A retaining wall at the northeast corner of the lot
Sidewalk upgrades to improve accessibility
An extension of the sidewalk along Sawkaw Drive NE
Construction is expected to begin in June and take approximately eight weeks to complete. An alternative parking plan for library patrons and staff will be shared before work begins to help minimize disruptions during the project."

Printing and now scanning and faxing are back up and running at KDL including our branch but printing may be slow at times.

Here's the fine print (pun intended):

You may print up to 50 pages for free each week with your library card. However, printing is limited to 50 pages, can only be printed from your device and additional pages cannot be purchased at this time. If you need to print more than 50 pages or have special needs, consider nearby print/copy shops.

Some printers may experience slower than normal printing time. Please bear with us as we continue to restore these services.

Their mission is to create communities rooted in belonging so young people can build stability and “own their future.”

Items specifically requested: Boxers (all sizes), Sports bras (all sizes), Baby wipes, Deodorant, Toothpaste, T-shirts (all sizes), Basketball shorts (all sizes), Backpacks, Hair gel and Body wash.

Please consider making a donation. Thank you in advance for your generosity!

🚧 Road Closure 1 Week Away 🚧

Cranes and closures are coming to Rogue River Road as contractors install a new pedestrian bridge made possible by Kent County.

✅ Closure: Rogue River Road will be closed generally between Verta Drive and Woodwater Drive from May 12 to May 18 (Kent County project work)
✅ Detour: Signs will be posted. The recommended detour is south on Jupiter Avenue, east on West River Drive, and north onto Northland Drive. Local access will be maintained for people who live in the construction area.
✅ Payoff: The 10-foot-wide bridge will span the Rogue River and connect both sections of our new South Rogue River Trail, giving outdoor enthusiasts a whole new experience. For the full project details, click on the link in our comments.
