Early summer is when schools start hiring for their fall semesters and some districts in Michigan are looking for interpreters and staff for their DHH programs. D&HHS is partnering with the Access Equity and Leadership Collective (AELC) for a community discussion. Join us for Signs at the Table, a community conversation on Michigan’s legislative priorities and how they impact Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities.

Summer is here!
Our offices will be closed on Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day.
Summer Hours Update: Starting after Memorial Day, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services will shift to our Summer Hours. Beginning Friday, May 29, our office will be closed to walk-in traffic on Fridays, with all staff working remotely.
Our offices will be open for regular hours Monday-Thursday, 9 AM - 4 PM throughout the summer.

Registration is open for Kids Kamp 2026!

Join us August 3-7 from 9 am - 12 pm each day! Kids Kamp will be held at Northview's West Oakview Elementary School, located at 3880 Stuyvesant Ave NE, Grand Rapids. MI 49525.
Kids Kamp is for all Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard of Hearing kids ages 3-12 and also open to hearing friends and siblings!
Early Bird registration until July 20
$90 for the first Kamper and $75 for additional Kampers from the same family. Price increases $10 per Kamper after July 20.

Our early Summer ASL Classes start next week. There is still time to register!
Classes are available online and in person. Check Eventbrite for class level and location information.
ASL classes begin the week of May 11. During the 8-week course, you will learn what makes the language unique, including signs, expressions, Deaf culture, and more.
Registration is open now! Go to Eventbrite to find more information on all of the classes available and to register. Community classes start at $125/student. Price increases to $135 one week before classes begin.
