Safe Haven Ministries is grateful to be named one of 57 United Way grantees selected from 181 applicants.

Our proposal focuses on youth violence prevention, supporting our continued work to equip young people and communities with education, tools, and resources that help prevent violence before it begins.

At Monday’s Heart of West Michigan United Way Celebration Breakfast, Praxis Training and Education Manager Mykal Ward and Praxis Director Tony Tendero connected with fellow grantees from Allegan, Ottawa, and Kent counties. We are encouraged by the opportunity to strengthen partnerships across our region and continue connecting education with action.

Together, we are working toward how education and action will create safer communities for all.

At Safe Haven Ministries, we believe everyone deserves to live free from violence, fear, and exploitation. We are committed to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive space for all survivors, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.

We recognize that members of the LGBTQIA+ community often face unique barriers when seeking safety and support. This month, and throughout the year, we reaffirm our commitment to listening, advocating, and ensuring that every individual is treated with dignity, respect, and compassion.

You deserve healthy relationships. You deserve to feel safe. You belong here.
