I had adopted her but she refused to come away with me. It was weird because dogs can't wait to leave the kennel. She was crying and stubbing her paws. I should have dragged her. But when I looked down I understood the reason and I had to make a CHOICE "When the time came to take her home she was just out of that cage, from that moment a new world awaited her, a wonderful life and a lot of love. Any another dog would have run into the embers of her rescuers. But she did not. She stood still, sticking to all fours and refused to come out of the cage. In a corner a small Chihuahua Taco looked at her in fear. She understood that she was about to lose her her best friend. And in that moment a small miracle happened. The couple saw the whole scene and decided to adopt them both. They did the documents also for the chihuahua and all 4 went out the door of the shelter. was taken in the car, before leaving. Personally I would like to wish these two dogs a happy life full of love !. But above all so much happiness also to these two wonderful people ❤️

L’DOR V’DOR - From Generation to Generation
By Lynda Bar, Owner/Director
Transition & Advocacy Services LLC

This evening Passover ended and last Sunday was Easter.

These are special times of year that are traditionally celebrated with Family.

These celebrations are usually joyful but it is also a time to remember loved ones and friends who have passed away. It can be a very hard for those who have had recent losses.

The observation of traditions is important and can be a way for us to unify us with our past, present, and future generations, even if seems strange to do so, without them.

A couple of weeks ago my Aunt Shirley passed away. I am so grateful that a couple of weekends ago we were able to spend some quality time with a special visit. Aunt Shirley was always there for me, my whole life.

My Aunt Shirley was the last family member of that generation on both sides of our family.

This year, participating in these family gatherings, I looked around and saw all of our dear children and four of our 6 grandchildren (2 are already in Heaven) and my heart filled with gratitude. “My Cup Runneth Over.”

I also remembered sitting around the table with all of our loved ones who had already passed away and tears came to my eyes. I wanted them to see us, but they were not there.

If your mother and/or father live with you or are in continuum care, this can be especially hard on them as well.

Over the last year, you yourself, may have lost your mother/father/Aunt/Cousin/ or a special friend. The pain may feel too strong to participate in the family tradition. But as as difficult as it may seem, it is important to continue to tell the stories of our dear ones who have passed away to those with whom we are celebrating.

Time For Something New!

I started Transition & Advocacy Services during the time we moved our Mothers to Michigan. My Mom In 2006, and my Mother-in Law In 2007. We lived together for a total of 11 years (my Mom from 2006 until her passing in 2011).

My Mother-in-law lived with us until her passing at home, just a few months shy of 101 years old.

I am writing now to tell our story as we are going through another major transition in our life. This part of our journey will be continued on our blog.

I will give the blog address, soon.

Meanwhile, I will continue articles and am available for Consultation in regards to Living with Parents and Patient Advocacy on this page.

My first entry here will be posted here, shortly.

Meanwhile, have a wonderful day!!! 😊
