Kent County Animal Shelter The Kent County Animal Shelter works with thousands of families every year. Our staff can counsel you on the right pet for your family. Give a pet a happy home.

Next time you want a pet, think adoption first! View are adoptable pets here: https://www.accesskent.com/Departments/AnimalShelter/adoptable-animals.htm

We accept credit and debit card payment, cash and check. KCAS does not accept Apple Pay. Pets posted here may not fully represent all of the animals we have at a given time. If you have a lost pet, you will need to come to the Animal Shelter in person with ID, proof of ownership and rabies certificate for reclaim purposes. Boarding fees for pets that are being held at KCAS are based on the number of days an animal is held. Licensing and other fees may apply. All animal complaints including animal cruelty/neglect, animal bites or animals running at large, must be reported to the Animal Control Division of the Kent County Sheriff's Office at 616-632-7310. If you need to surrender a pet or if you need to bring in a stray animal, please call 616-632-7300. All animal intake is done by appointment. Due to staffing levels KCAS cannot respond to all messages or comments. If you have any questions, please call 616-632-7300.

🐾 Empty the Shelters starts TODAY! 🐾

Meet Nala. 💕 This sweet shepherd girl is ready for her next chapter.

Nala loves getting out for walks, but some of her favorite moments are the quieter ones spent with volunteers, soaking up attention and showing everyone just how loving she is.

Through September 30, Empty the Shelters is giving dogs like Nala an extra opportunity to connect with the families who are looking for them. Could you be the one she’s been waiting for?
