The competition on the plant table was a fierce as in the trivia battle. Congratulatuons to all out members who won a round of trivia and brought a new plant home.

If you are interrested in having fun and learning more about orchids, come and join us! Growers of any and all levels are welcome. Our meetings are also open to the public and free to attend!

Thank you to the members of the Grand Valley Orchid Society that volunteered today at Frederick Meijer Gardens. They successfully repotted 36 cattleyas.
If you'd like to learn more about orchids, have access to volunteer opportunities, and have a lot of fun, you can become a member for only
$25/year.

Just a reminder to all members. This Saturday is one of our volunteer days in thr orchid greenhouse at the Meijer Gardens. Drop in any time between 9AM and 3PM. Dress to be working in toasty conditions.

That probably means t-shirts and shorts unless you are Alison. I have it on good authority that she is working her regular job so won't be there to horrify people in her jeans and sweatshirt.

Bring your own food and water or plan on buying snacks or lunch at the Cafe.

Today was the first class one of our members taught at the Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park. Our communications board member, who has a background in education, taught a two hour beginning orchid class with the assistance of our president. While the official feedback from the gardens is not yet available, all of the initial feedback received has been very positive. Hopefully this will lead to more teaching opportunities in the future!

Don't forget, our April meeting is this week Thursday and we will have an in person guest presentor with goodies for sale. We hope to see a lot of new and familiar faces there!

The vendors and societies with displays at the Greater Lansing Orchid Society show pulled out all the stops. There are do many gorgeous plants to look at and even one or two to buy. Come out and visit out orchid friends!
