Organizing workers and communities at scale is more important now than ever. This workshop will provide an overview of tried-and-true organizing methods and a deep dive into the COMET (Construction Organizing Membership Education Training) model of organizing. This workshop is an opportunity for members from ALL industries and unions to hone their skills, share organizing tips, and learn from each other.
The COMET model of organizing has been successful in engaging non-union workers in construction trades, where union support tends to be lower. This worker education program has also been important for improving worker attitudes toward immigrant workers in the trades, key to building industry solidarity.
Brothers and Sisters,
Thank you to everyone who came out last week to join the workers of Moore Mechanical on the picket line. The workers were truly blown away by the amount of support and participation β thatβs what SOLIDARITY looks like!
Thereβs no doubt that the owners of Moore Mechanical now know we stand shoulder to shoulder with these workers all the way through.
The picket lines will continue throughout this week, with days, times, and locations listed below. Iβll be sending out an updated schedule for next week soon β stay tuned!
Once again, thank you for all your support β showing up on the line, sending emails, and helping spread the word. Your efforts are making a real impact.
