What a wonderful morning of music with the Grand Rapids Symphony at St. Cecilia Music Center! ☕🎶

Our members enjoyed coffee and doughnuts before settling in for an inspiring program featuring the lively charm of Rossini, the expressive beauty of Alexander Miller’s Oboe Concerto, Mascagni’s stirring Intermezzo, and Haydn’s dazzling “Miracle Symphony.”

Northview Senior Citizens enjoyed a wonderful Apprentice for Life (AFL) Lecture last week with Wendy Zielen, who shared fascinating insights about the Rosie the Riveters at the Willow Run B-24 Bomber Plant during World War II. We learned about the plant’s history, the women who worked there, and the lasting impact they made on women’s rights, labor, and industry.

Our next AFL lecture is Tuesday, March 24th when presenter Gary L. Hauck will introduce us to Patrick Henry and his wife Dorothea Dandridge as they share their stories of America's struggle for independence and the establishment of a new nation. What a wonderful time at the Northview Senior Citizens February Luncheon yesterday!

A big thank you to Jan Jager and the Northview High School food service team for the delicious meal. We were also treated to fantastic entertainment by our super-talented, crowd-pleasing pianist, Dan Louisell, who kept us smiling and tapping along.

Most of all, it was a delight to catch up with friends and share great conversation. We are so grateful for this amazing community! 💙

Thank you to Matthew Osman for teaching us all about pudding stones today and sharing his passion for rocks, geology and lapidary art. Pudding stones are unique conglomerate rocks made up of colorful pebbles naturally cemented together, often polished to reveal their beautiful patterns. Lapidary art is the craft of cutting, shaping, and polishing stones to highlight their natural beauty, and Matthew’s gorgeous pieces are truly amazing!
