π¨πΈ HELP US TELL GRANGER'S STORY THROUGH ART! π
Granger residents, history buffs, photographers, and longtime community members, we're calling on you!
As part of our partnership with the University of Iowa's Iowa Initiative for Sustainable Communities (IISC), we're working with graduate student artist Emily Edwards to create a beautiful new Community Mural on the exterior of the Granger Community Center!
The mural will celebrate Granger's past, present, and future, highlighting the people, places, traditions, and memories that make our community special.
And we need YOUR HELP! π·
Emily is gathering photographs for inspiration as she develops mural design concepts. Whether you have old family photos, pictures from community events, or snapshots of your favorite places around Granger, we'd love to see them!
π WE'RE ESPECIALLY LOOKING FOR:
𦬠Jester Park & Local Nature: Bison, elk, other wildlife, seasonal plants, landscapes, and recognizable natural features.
π¦ Granger Ducks: Our local students included ducks in many of their mural ideas, and Emily would love to incorporate them! Do you have a great photo of Granger's ducks? Send it our way!
βΎ Granger Youthball & Little League History: Photos of players, teams, coaches, games, and fields throughout the years. We would especially love generational photos showing parents, grandparents, and children who have all participated in Granger's youth baseball and softball programs!
π Community Events & Traditions: Granger Days, library activities, celebrations, parades, and the gatherings that bring our community together.
ποΈ Granger History & Landmarks: Old and current water towers, local businesses, historic buildings, community gathering places, the Granger Women's Club/Kozy Club, and other pieces of Granger's history.
β€οΈ Anything That Says "GRANGER" to You! A favorite memory, familiar place, longtime tradition, or photograph that captures our community's unique character.
