Early morning electrical fire at the Round Table pizza in Granite Bay. Quick activation by the buildings smoke detection system and a single fire sprinkler activation prevented a difficult to detect fire from quickly growing out of control and possibly destroying the restaurant and adjacent business. Engine 16 was first on scene and did a stellar job assessing the situation, suppressing the fire, shutting down the sprinkler system, and assisting with removal of excess water from the business. Modern day Fire Codes require fire detection and suppression systems in nearly every building for just this very reason… and today was a perfect example of why they are so important.
